Covid-19 Commemoration The Maloney's Move

During the first week of lockdown that was announced by the Prime Minister on Monday 23 March 2020, my husband and I had were moving from our home in Church Drive, North Harrow. We had exchanged contracts and arranged for the removal firm to place our furniture and belongings in storage on Tuesday 24 March 2020. We were then moving out on completion day on Thursday 26 March to stay with my husband’s mother, aged 90, on a temporary basis to enable our new home in Buckinghamshire to be cleaned and updated. On the morning of 24 March at 6 am we received an email to say the removal firm had cancelled our booking due to the Coronavirus lockdown. Totally panicking and very stressed we somehow managed to find another removal company at 7 am who agreed to move our furniture and belongings into storage. Needless to say we could not stay with husband’s mother but moved into our new home taking four weeks to clean, sleeping on mattresses on the floor and foregoing updates to the home. All whilst in our 70’s with no help and husband celebrating his 73rd Birthday whilst in self isolation.
