You will be introduced to the life and legacy of Mohamoud Dualeh, a trailblazing Somali Journalist and BBC correspondent who arrived in the UK in the 1980s and has called Harrow home for much of his life. Learn about Dualeh's remarkable 50-year journey in broadcasting. In London, Dualeh is an important cultural figure. His programmes continue to reach new generations struggling with identity in exile.
About HASVO
HASVO is a community-led organisation based in Harrow, working to support and empower diverse communities, particularly Somali and other migrant families. Through health, wellbeing, heritage, and education projects, HASVO helps people navigate change, preserve their stories, and strengthen community connections.
HASVO believes lived experience is a powerful form of knowledge. By using oral history, storytelling, and community engagement, the organisation ensures that the voices, journeys, and contributions of migrant communities are recognised, recorded, and passed on to future generations.
