About the exhibition: Currently, 13 million women are going through the menopause in the UK and this figure is rising. Each year, on 18th October, the International Menopause Society (IMS) encourages awareness of menopause worldwide where a specific theme is selected to help guide conversations for the whole month. However, M for Menopause believes the conversation should also be normalised throughout society, all year through. This exhibition in our community cupboard has been co-curated with M for Menopause’s founder, Madhu Kapoor. Madhu is a South Asian woman based in Harrow who faced a horrific menopause journey which affected her physically and psychologically in all aspects of her life. Her exhibition will incorporate some quotes from her book Menopause: It’s complicated due to be published by next year.
