They say the truth comes out eventually, in some cases, it might be hidden in an archival box. But does an archivist spend all day spilling old tea?  If you are interested in an answer to this question, and what other things an archivist at Headstone Manor and Museum does in a day, this is the tour for you!

You can hear about the history of the archival collections while looking at selected items relating to everyday histories. Hear how the collections can support your research into the past, whether for exploring family histories or for personal interest. You will also have chance to stand in the archival stores and find out some of our conservation issues, including finding out, what is red rot?

Due to the narrow spaces, groups will be kept small, and please expect cold conditions and to stand for long periods of time during the tour.

Tour duration is appropriately 40 minutes.

During Heritage Open Days we will offer a coffee and cake deal at The Moat Café!

The Moat Café is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 4pm. If your tour is after opening times, there will be no refreshments or café access.
