We explore the lives of Harrow’s ordinary people over the centuries, from the maintenance men on John Lyon’s roads and the Welsh milkmaids who worshipped at the Welsh Congregational Church, to Kodak’s female workforce, the labourers on the Rayners Lane viaduct, the local farmers and the craftsmen who built the Borough’s main heritage buildings.
About the Speaker:
Judith Shepherd, local resident, and a regular leader of Heritage Open Day Festival Events, will take a look at the Unsung Local Heroes who were our predecessors.
Retiring Collection in support of St Mary's Church, Harrow on the Hill, Renovations.
During Heritage Open Days we will offer a coffee and cake deal at The Moat Café!
The Moat Café is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 4pm. If your tour is after opening times, there will be no refreshments or café access.
