Hands On History

Meet three figures from Harrow's past (Anglo-Saxon, Tudor and Victorian) and step into their world at Headstone Manor. Students will explore the Tudor herb gardens, handle genuine Kodak cameras from Harrow's industrial heritage, and get hands-on with tactile wallpaper samples to compare the 'then and now'. The session ends with a creative activity. You have the choice of creating a clay fire insurance badge, making a Victorian peg doll, or designing a stained-glass bookmark inspired by the Whitefriars glassmakers.

Aim of the session to explore the local history of Harrow through figures from the past, object handling and sensory exploration of the Manor House, culminating in a creative art activity.
