This talk examines the local experience of 1918 in and around Pinner, as a stressed and war-weary community endured a year that would end, simultaneously, with a flu pandemic and the relief of the Armistice.
About the Speaker:
Thamar is a member of the Pinner Local History Society’s Research Group. She read history at Oxford, with a particular interest in thirteenth-century England. : Thamar worked as a solicitor at the Greater London Council and successor bodies,. She has recently published an academic article on Pinner’s suffragettes and the book, “Secret Pinner”, for PLHS.
