After months of hibernation, we are super excited to announce that we will be reopening from Thurs 6th August!
The opening hours of the site will be Thursday-Saturday 11:00-15:00.
Following new government guidance, all visitors must wear a face covering when visiting HMM.
During the closure period our team have been working on reopening plans, taking all advice and guidance from the Council and Government to ensure the site is ready and safe for public return. We have introduced new operating procedures and policies designed to ensure that the safety of Visitors, Volunteers, Contractors and Staff through the minimalization of the possibility of COVID-19 transmission is at the centre of everything we do. You will notice changes to our operation, namely how you move around the site, how and what you can interact with and what facilities you will be able to use.
I am sure you now have many questions regarding what your visit will look like and how the Museum & Welcome Café will operate so I have outlined below what you can expect when you arrive for your first visit back:
The Moat Café opening times will mirror that of the Museum, Thursday-Saturday 11:00-15:00, and will serve a reduced menu for takeaway service via contactless payment. To ensure that the possibility of contact is kept to an absolute minimum, no access into the building itself or it’s WC will be permitted. Customers are to place orders with a friendly member of staff stationed outside of the Café. The order will then be prepared and set onto a table along with a contactless card machine for payment. Please remember to inform staff if you require milk or sugar/sweetener when placing your order as these will now be added for you.
The Museum will operate a one-way system, with a socially distanced queue system set up. Visitors will enter through the Small Barn where all households attending will be asked for their name and contact information prior to entering due to our Track and Trace procedure (this information will be stored in-line with the Museum’s GDPR procedure). Visitors will then follow signage across the bridge and into the Manor House. There will also be a one-way system within the House itself, which will wind you through all rooms so you can still enjoy all our collections. You will then exit to the rear of the house and circle around the building to the bridge and to the new exit point will be located at the green gate.
There will be several new measures put into place on site to ensure that the possibility of transmission of Covid-19 is reduced as much as possible. These will include additional cleaning measures, new maximum capacity of the site (based on 2m social distancing), the removal of our interactive touch screens, puzzles and bakery play area, the implementation of hand sanitiser stations at entry & exit points, signage to remind visitors to keep to social distancing and to refrain from touching collections & cases and the closure of all WC facilities on site.
We have made every effort to sanitise the environment, not the experience and would like to thank you in advance for your cooperation as we do our very best to ensure your visit is as enjoying as possible within our new safety framework.
See you soon,
The Team @ Headstone Manor & Museum.
